This policy explains what personal information Lions Gate Property Finance collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over it.

Who we are

Lions Gate Property Finance is a trading name of Lions Gate Developments Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 05328876, with its registered office at 7b Parkshot, Richmond, London TW9 2RD.

We are the data controller for the information described in this policy. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under reference ZA024425.

What we collect

This website has no enquiry form and collects nothing from you as you browse it. We hold personal information only when you choose to contact us, or when we work together. Depending on what you have asked us to do, that typically means:

  • your name, company, email address and telephone number;
  • information about a proposed transaction — the site or property, the funding you are seeking, costs, values, planning status and timescales;
  • information about your business and its financial position, where that is needed to approach lenders and investors on your behalf;
  • where we are advising rather than arranging — on funding strategy, on a scheme you are considering, or in a board or non-executive capacity — information about your business, its plans and its finances;
  • where we are introducing you to a joint venture partner or to an off-market opportunity, your requirements, criteria and capacity to transact;
  • correspondence between us.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use this information to respond to enquiries and to provide our services. That includes assessing whether we can help; approaching lenders, funds and investors on your behalf; arranging and progressing funding; providing strategic advisory work; introducing joint venture partners; and introducing clients to off-market sites and opportunities.

Where you are asking us to act for you, our lawful basis is that the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and to perform that contract. Otherwise our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and operating our business, balanced against your interests and rights. Where we are required to keep records for anti-money-laundering or tax purposes, our basis is compliance with a legal obligation.

Who we share it with

This is the most important section of this policy. Much of what we do involves putting you in front of other people. To arrange funding for you we pass information about you and your transaction to third parties — that is our service.

Depending on what you have asked us to do, we may share your information with:

  • lenders, funds and investors we approach on your behalf;
  • joint venture partners — developers seeking equity, and landowners seeking a development partner — where you have asked us to make an introduction;
  • landowners, developers and agents, where we are introducing you to an off-market site or opportunity;
  • professional advisers — solicitors, valuers, accountants and monitoring surveyors involved in a transaction;
  • our own professional advisers, and any authority we are legally required to disclose to.

We share what is necessary for the purpose and no more, and we tell you who we are approaching. We do not sell personal information, and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

Where an enquiry does not lead to a transaction or an engagement, we keep the correspondence for up to two years, so that we can pick up the conversation if you come back to us.

Where we act on a transaction or an advisory engagement, we keep the records for six years after it completes or ends, which reflects the period in which a claim could be brought and our record-keeping obligations.

Where it is held

Our email and documents are held on Microsoft 365. Microsoft may process data outside the UK; where it does, that transfer is covered by the safeguards Microsoft provides for its business customers.

Cookies and analytics

This website sets no cookies of its own and does not track you across other websites.

We use a privacy-focused analytics service to count visits and see which pages are read. It does not use cookies, does not collect personal information, and cannot identify you as an individual.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, and in some circumstances to have it erased or its use restricted. You may also object to our processing where we rely on legitimate interests, and ask us to transfer certain information to another organisation.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@lions-gate.co.uk. We will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so that we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
